Dear Friend,

My many Thanksgiving recollections are filled with fond memories of time with family, fellowship with special friends, thoughts of loved ones who were with us then but have now passed on to glory, and so many other blessings of which I am thankful.

I am thankful for those blessed times, but Sidney’s and my thoughts and prayers also go out today to those who are struggling during this holiday season. Our hope is that the God of mercy will give them His grace during these times and restore to them the joy that our Lord brings though his life here on earth.

Today, we are indeed reminded of those many blessings – health and happiness, friends and family. We are also reminded of the sacrifices made on our behalf by the brave men and women of our armed forces who celebrate their Thanksgiving abroad today so that we may enjoy this holiday safely. May God protect them, and may they all return home soon to their families.

I am so honored and thankful for the opportunity to serve our great state and our country. No country has ever been so blessed by our God as our great republic, the United States of America. His word reminds in Psalm 33:12, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.” May we continue as a country to honor His name in all that we do.

Sidney and I wish each one of you a blessed and peaceful Thanksgiving, and we thank you for this honor to serve you in Congress.

Happy Thanksgiving and God bless,

Gregg Harper
Member of Congress
