Dear Friend,

The Christmas season is simply one of the most enjoyable times of the year for me and for my family. It’s an extraordinary time…a time to be with loved ones, a time to give back to our communities and folks less fortunate, and certainly it’s a time to reflect on the “light of Christ” that has come into this world.

As we celebrate that glorious birth of our Lord Jesus, let us remember that many folks who protect us during the holiday season will not be home for Christmas, because they are doing their duty overseas. Let’s remember to pray for the men and women who serve or have served our country in the protection of our freedoms.

Recently in a worship service on Capitol Hill, someone said this about Christmas. “Remember that the true meaning of Christmas is not ‘under the Christmas tree’, but is ‘on a tree’ where Christ died for sinners.”

Let us pause to reflect on the gift given to us in Luke 2:10-11: “And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.'”

Sidney and I wish you a Merry Christmas and all the best in this upcoming year and during this season as we celebrate the birth of our Savior.

God Bless,
